Transmission Low

Once upon a time (like 2 years ago) I myself was playing in a band called UNO SOUL. That was pretty fuzzed in a neat sense until the guys decided to throw me out of the band because of "interpersonal differences" and "a roaring smack addiction".
Anyways WHEN we did play together we often found ourselves trapped in the rehearsal space complex in the middle of the night, no beer left, no scratch, no grass, no nothing, all consumed. The ONLY place we might be lucky to leech some something was at Transmission Lows place downstairs. Its not even like we knew the guys that good or liked each others bands very much, it was just good to know where to go to get demented in a tight spot.
I think they have become, like, superstars now.

I met this girl once, and once only. I have never seen her since.
But she is it. Just take a listen and look at her.

Caleb Eike Smith

Caleb is a wicked talented photographer I recently met through Anna Ö. We did a marathon shoot, spending 17 hours or so cruising Stockholm for coolspots. Some of the pics will be used for the Ravishing Mad SS 11 collection catalogue and some, I guesshopefear, will be for Caleb to use as he sees fit.
The Ravishing Mad pics will most def be posted here, too, when ready.
Anyways, I can only recommend keeping an eye on Mr. Smith - he's a star. He is exhibiting with Isak Boardman at Galleri Kocks (lovely name, btw) in Stockholm from tomorrow until July 20.

Grunge music never died, it just took a long sleep

I grew up with Sonic Youth, L7 and Nirvana and thus cannot possibly avoid loving this band Little Yells Alot.

...and they're real pretty, too.

Fucktrash

...mad props to Anna Ö of Ravishing Mad for pointing my nose to this.
The thing is, I used to have a serious man-crush on Harmony Korine for his creative M.O. and his sick, grimy aesthetics. Until recently I was positive that I was over it - I even watched "Kids" again without pulling my dick out and wanting for the mastermind behind that story, and though - even now - it seems I can keep my composure just enough to write this, I am forever certain that a part of my soul will be Harmonys to keep.
Fuck you, Harmony Korine for staying insanely cooler than everyone else. And btw, a very grateful fåk you Anna, for reminding me of him.

Sort of artsy

I like Cannonball Press - they do shitloads of ok weird graphic stuff. But I love Mike Houston - he's seriously the man. Sort of like Robert Crumb, but without the impractical "having-to-hide-it-when-Mom-comes-to-visit" factor. If you want to get your hands on it, and are not in the States, but in Denmark, which are the two only places anyone could be (?) you should ask Morten at MOHS Exhibit, which is a proper neat gallery in Copenhagen, if he still has some pieces left.

Old people rule, too.

yeah, I know I said teens rule, which they do do - but it got me thinking about beer bellies, very long ballsacks, 30-year depressions and grey pubes, stuff teens can't really boast - and it made me revisit some guys I know who, at the ripe combined age of around 200 finally got around to assembling a proper band, called Shield, record proper songs and (probably) split up for good again. They truly are a pack of beer-chugging, roach-toking, up-to-no-good fuckfreaks and for staying like that and sounding like this, they deserve every piece of respect I can assemble.

The Mummies LIVE!

Shit, sometimes I truly regret being less than attentive to just about everything around me in my teens. Other times, finding an ancient video with a band you remember hearing about but never got around to check out back when they were around makes up for all the hours of missing out. Again this is something I have to credit sweet Agnes for. Teens rule. I feel strangely over-the-hill.

This guy I know

He's called Jens SomethingSomething, but in artistic endeavours he uses the monikers Jens Robot, Jens Røvbot (loosely translates to AssBot from Danish) and in old times was known as Strait. Anyways, he runs this record label-ish website called illphabetik.com releasing freely downloadable electronic music, mainly oldskool acid and breakcore (which includes just about every other genre there is) and forum-chatting about intellectual stuff like gay porn, kiddy porn, weed and sodomy. Oh yeah, and occasionally slandering Venetian Snares for being great at what he does and hailing Richard D. James as the godfather of all there is.
Anyways, Jens just released an album on Red Tape (the Danish label, not the other shit Google prefers to show you) called CFX. It is more than good and better than most of his illphabetik releases. Go fetch : http://www.redtape.dk/main_frame.php?pid=erecords_vw

And this is Jens on the left. Fashionable guy:
I'm no good at remembering so if I ever knew about this band before, I forgot. Thankyousoveryfuckinmuch to Agnes, the coolest teenage girl-next-door I know, for having Swell Maps on her ipod.

What is this?

So, I signed up for this piece of the Interweb about half a year back, while the cold, black Danish winter and a very called-for period of rehabilition had me longing for a return to (online) life among the living (dead).

Six months later I'm still pondering if there is an absolute purpose to blogs/blogging (I have no doubt the need is there) and how to go about fulfilling that purpose. Until any answer to this ponder will be given to me, I'm just gonna post shit I like here - just like most other people do in their assigned slices of web.

Actually, if you are the kind of retard (like I am) who needs or prefers a reading guide to any written or visual input, you should probably see this blog as the only chart of what is hot or not (hot).

Oh yeah and in the pic are me and my guitar in my living room, all three most def HOT.
